whats the difference between the nikon d700 and nikon d3?

First, below is a link to a webpage that has a side by side listing of the D3 and D700 so you can compare features and specs. Also, on that webpage are links to camera reviews to both cameras that include sample images created by the cameras.
I am looking to get a D700 or what may be replacing it in the not so far future.
Here is my quick list of differences:
*D700 cost less (camera body $2400) (D3 camera body $4600)
*D700 smaller and lighter than the D3
*D3 has 2 slots for compact flash cards built into camera. (D700 has one)
*D3 does 9fps (D700 5fps)
*D3 has 3:2, and 5:4 image ratio option (D700 just 3:2)

Why does "K.R." rate the Nikon D3 series autofocus…?
Posted by admin | Under Nikon D3 Friday Feb 12, 2010… as superior to the D300s??? Aren’t they the same? You photo pros know who I’m talking about (Ken Rockwell). Is he kidding on this one or is it really superior for motion, and why?
Also, anybody know what the time limit is for video clips on the D3s? Its 5 minutes on the D300s – is it longer or the same on the D3s? Thanks for that info too – if you have it.
Well one of you please answer the question instead of lambasting Ken Rockwell? I don’t always agree with what he says and have read the page where he himself says not to take himself to seriously. A lot of people disagree with what "K.R." says but a lot of what he says IS correct. So why is the D3 series autofocus superior to the D300 series? NO ONE has yet answered that!
He says, "Even though the D300 has the same AF sensor and settings as the D3, the D300 lacks the D3’s computing horsepower to interpret all this data as fast. The D300 doesn’t always figure out which sensor to use fast enough, so if it’s too slow for you in the Big White Rectangle mode, you may need to use the old-fashioned modes of picking AF sensors yourself." Maybe that’s the reason. The hardware is the same, but the software is better.
For manual focusing, the obvious answer would be the larger and brighter viewfinder.
