A Nikon D3 costs $5132. At your current wage how many hours would you have to work buy a Nikon D3?

LOL Acidman,

Me too!

Too many.

EDIT:

I guess I should explain a bit… It's not that I wouldn't be able to pay for something like that – and if I didn't have any other expenses or bills, I could buy one outright within a month – however I'm married, have a teenage son, mortgage, car payment, loan payment, insurance payments (auto, home, health, life), utility payments (electric, gas), ever increasing cost of transportation (gasoline), motorcycle payment (I save enough on transportation to pay the motorcycle payment), cell phone payment (family plan), high-speed internet, food, medical, etc.

So in an "unreal" world – one where I could devote my entire income to "wants" without any regard for "needs", I could pay for one of those cameras in a little less than a month.

Is that the Amazon.com price? You should be able to find a slightly better price than that on other sites. Maybe a little under $5K.

Considering that I would be using after-tax dollars – unlike a professional photographer – maybe about 75-80 hours. I generate income 7 hours per day, 4 days per week, so "a while," so long as we don't eat, buy oil, blah, blah, blah…

That's about my anticipated whole year expense for 2008-2009 oil consumption at the office, which is my real business, so I think heat wins out.
